• Laying the Net: The sod producer lays the specialized Conwed Sod Netting or similar product directly onto the prepared soil using an installer machine or manually.

• Root Intertwining: As the grass grows, its roots naturally intertwine with the durable mesh structure, creating a strong, uniform matrix that binds the soil and plants together.

• Securing in the Field: Producers may use specific stakes, such as the Magnum T-Stakes, to secure the field netting to the ground. These are designed to hold the net flat and minimize the number of stakes needed. 

• Mechanical Cutting: A mechanical sod harvester cuts the sod from the field at a uniform depth.

• Automatic Wrapping: The same machine then dispenses additional netting (known as "big roll netting" or "turf netting" like Conwed Turf Netting or Ecocycle Sodwrap) from a roll, supporting the underside of the cut sod.

• Roll Containment: The netting is wrapped around the circumference of the sod roll, edge-to-edge, to contain it securely, maintain its quality, and prevent it from falling apart during transport and installation.

• Cutting: A blade on the harvester automatically cuts the netting once the desired roll size is achieved. 

In essence, you do not "fix" the netting during harvest in the traditional sense; the growing process naturally incorporates the netting, and the harvesting equipment automatically uses the netting to package the sod rolls.
